The 55km Galloping Goose Regional Trail connects downtown Victoria with Sooke and beyond..The 29km Lochside Regional Trail begins in Saanich and ends at the BC Ferries terminal at Swartz Bay. Cycle, walk, roller blade or ride a horse along this former rail line past some of Southern Vancouver Islands's finest West Coast scenery. Experience the original railway through urban back streets and waterways where every turn in the trail leads to a new and exciting outdoor adventure.

The Galloping Goose Trail intersects with the Lochside Trail, a 29-kilometre former rail line that connects Victoria with the town of Sidney, BC Ferries terminal at Swartz Bay and the Anacortes Ferry in Sidney BC. 


Victoria Regional Transit
Victoria Regional Transit bus 61 from Victoria to Sooke and 70 and 75 from the BC Ferries, Anacortes Ferries and Victoria International Airport provide stops along the Trails. For Bus Schedules, fares and routes. Victoria Regional Transit's offers bike rack service that is designed to assist longer commutes. The racks are available on low-floor buses and double decker buses. Most accessible buses in Victoria Transit's fleet are equipped with racks that carry up to two bikes at a time, trips are not guaranteed to have a rack.


Trail Etiquette ..

* Share the trail and keep right to pass
* When passing, alert other trail visitors and use caution, around horses\
* Respect the trail environment and neighbouring lands
* Yield to farm equipment
* Control your speed and yield to pedestrians and horse riders

There are places to rest while you enjoy that well deserved picnic, or stop at a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, fast foods and local neighbourhood pubs. The Galloping Goose Trail offers some of the finest in outdoor, all weather, recreation and adventure for all ages and abilities. Easy access points to the Galloping Goose and Lochside Regional Trails are available as the trails are close to regular transportation routes.
